Anaplan is looking for a talented, energetic, experienced and confident in-house CORPORATE COUNSEL & CONTRACT MANAGEMENT with a proven track record of success negotiating a variety of commercial transactions in the cloud industry with the largest enterprises in the world. This role, based in SAN FRANCISCO or MINNEAPOLIS will partner with and advise business teams in the United States and elsewhere with an emphasis on negotiation of commercial transactions, partner relationships and procurement transactions.  This position will also engage in the contract management and operational process issues as we implement a new contract management system.  You will participate in establishing best practices and optimizing the contract process.

What you'll be doing:

  • Support Anaplan's U.S. Sales, Partner and Customer Success organizations in structuring commercial transactions, and drafting and negotiating commercial agreements such as SaaS subscription agreements, order schedules, statements of work, and confidentiality agreements.
  • Support Anaplan's Procurement and business teams in structuring, drafting and negotiating agreements with suppliers.
  • Advise business teams worldwide on legal compliance matters, including on data protection and privacy issues.
  • Partner with finance, sales ops, tech ops, procurement other internal teams to ensure consistency in implementing company policies and processes.
  • Advise senior management and business clients on aspects of law in commercial transactions and related matters, including data protection and privacy.
  • Assist in optimizing contract templates, drafting global corporate policies and processes, ensuring regulatory requirements are adhered to and developing training materials on relevant topics such as the contracting process, data privacy and legal compliance in the sales and contracting processes. 
  • Assist in establishing best practices and optimizing the contract process.

More about the role:

  • 5+ years of relevant legal experience, in a Cloud/SaaS software company and/or in a law firm counseling rapid-growth technology/Cloud/SaaS companies.
  • California or Minnesota qualified lawyer with accredited law degree and a current license.
  • Substantive experience with complex, commercial technology transactions.
  • Substantive experience dealing with/collaborating with Sales, Sales Management, Procurement, and Executive teams on complex contract negotiations.
  • Substantive experience implementing contract management systems.
  • Substantive experience establishing best practices and processes for contract management.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, while adapting quickly to a rapidly changing environment.
  • Highly responsive and service-oriented attitude
  • Ability to maintain strong working relationships with demanding internal clients
  • Practical yet creative problem-solving approach that emphasizes addressing business needs while protecting Anaplan’s interests.
