Anaplan is looking for a talented, energetic, experienced and confident in-house legal counsel with a proven track record of success in negotiating commercial transactions in the cloud industry with the largest enterprises in the world. This role will advise business teams in the United States and elsewhere with an emphasis on negotiation of commercial transactions, partner relationships and procurement transactions.

This position is located in San Francisco, California and reports to the Vice President of Legal.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support Anaplan's U.S. Sales, Partner and Customer Success organizations in structuring commercial transactions, and drafting and negotiating commercial agreements such as SaaS subscription agreements, order schedules, statements of work, and confidentiality agreements.
  • Support Anaplan's procurement and business teams in structuring, drafting and negotiating agreements with suppliers.
  • Advise business teams worldwide on legal compliance matters, including on data protection and privacy issues.
  • Partner with finance, sales ops, tech ops, procurement other internal teams to ensure consistency in implementing company policies and processes.
  • Advise senior management and business clients on aspects of law in commercial transactions and related matters, including data protection and privacy.
  • Assist in optimizing contract templates, drafting global corporate policies and processes, ensuring regulatory requirements are adhered to and developing training materials on relevant topics such as the contracting process, data privacy and legal compliance in the sales and contracting processes. 

REQUIREMENTS

  • 5+ years of relevant legal experience, in a Cloud/SaaS software company and/or in a law firm counseling rapid-growth technology/Cloud/SaaS companies.
  • California qualified lawyer with accredited law degree and a current license.
  • Substantive experience with complex, commercial technology transactions.
  • Substantive experience dealing with/collaborating with Sales, Sales Management, Executive teams on complex contract negotiations.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, while adapting quickly to a rapidly changing environment.
  • Highly responsive and service-oriented attitude
  • Ability to maintain strong working relationships with demanding internal clients
  • Practical yet creative problem-solving approach that emphasizes addressing business needs while protecting Anaplan’s interests.
