At Anaplan, we are looking for a self-motivated individual to join our ENGINEERING OPERATIONS team in beautiful, SAN FRANCISCO, to become a member of the Global Software Engineering group located across San Francisco, US, London and York, UK.

Distributed by design, Engineering covers three locations today (San Francisco, London & York) plus several satellite teams. We have 200+ Technology staff globally, comprising at least 20 Engineering teams and expect to continue to grow at rapid pace. We are therefore establishing a specialist function to focus on the ‘people engineering’ activities that are key to successfully scaling our development efforts, ensuring the sustainable long-term growth of our people and capabilities.

Reporting to our Director, Engineering Operations and working with other Engineering Operations colleagues Globally, this role is responsible for a number of complimentary dimensions, all orientated towards ensuring that the San Francisco Engineering Teams feel connected, enabled and informed, and that Anaplan Engineering has a visible & positive presence in the local employer marketplace.

What you’ll be doing:

Working with the San Francisco Engineering site lead/team & directly aligned with the Global Engineering Operations function: 


  • An effective communications strategy & approach to maximize employee engagement across Engineering and with our internal stakeholders
  • An optimal approach to creating a visible and positive employer brand for Anaplan Engineering locally
  • An amazing & high impact pre & onboarding process for Engineering new joiners
  • The people capabilities needed to support sustainable long-term growth including plans & budgets for investments in our people – both near & strategic longer-term


  • Communications across the SF Engineering teams (and more broadly across the global Engineering function as needed)
  • Marketing & advertising activities relating to Engineering’s Employer Brand locally including, external events such as conferences, tech meet-ups and hackathons.
  • Engineering event management – ownership of all SF Engineering-related events, primarily delivering best-in-class ‘first touch’, Pre-boarding and On-boarding of all new Engineering staff.
  • Engineering education & training activities, including a proactive Skills Audit and staff development plan across the function
  • Managing Engineering Training & Events Budgets as per plan
  • Working with our internal stakeholders, primarily our Culture, HR and Learning & Development teams to align with, and maximize take-up and usage of, Anaplan-wide capabilities & resources 

All with a focus on improving the Engineers' experience, scaling the team and delivering a best-in-class Engineering culture in line with Anaplan’s values.

  • Comfortable speaking to groups, facilitating and presenting ideas at all levels
