 At Anaplan, we are looking to hire a TRAINING and EVENTS MANAGER, based in YORK. Anaplan’s global Software Engineering team is growing rapidly - scaling to deliver an aggressive growth strategy in the form of accelerated delivery, increasingly demanding roadmap and a re-architecting of the Platform.

Distributed by design, Engineering covers three locations today (York, London & San Francisco) plus several satellite teams. We have 200+ Technology staff globally, comprising at least 20 Engineering teams and expect to continue to grow at rapid pace. 

We are therefore establishing a specialist function to focus on the ‘people engineering’ activities that are key to successfully scaling our development efforts, ensuring the sustainable long-term growth of our people and capabilities.

Whilst Program Management deliver process, monitoring and frameworks to support technical execution, this team will execute non-technical projects and initiatives that deliver seamless running of our development efforts, especially those related to the experience of our Engineers.

What you'll be doing:

  • Working with the Engineering Leadership team to define the capabilities with need and develop aligned plans & budgets for investments in our people – both for the near & strategic longer term.
  • Working with our internal stakeholders, primarily our Culture, HR and Learning & Development teams to align with & maximise take-up & usage of Anaplan-wide capabilities & resources.

More about the role:

  • Driving Engineering education & training activities, including a proactive Skills Audit and staff development plan across the function.
  • Managing Training & Events Budgets as per plan.
  • Engineering event management – ownership of all Engineering-related events, primarily delivering best-in-class ‘first touch’, Pre-boarding and On-boarding of all new Engineering staff globally.
  • Support engagement with external events such as conferences, tech meet-ups and hackathons.
  • Administrative ownership of Engineering’s engagement with:
    • facilities on office space and IT to ensure the right tools and equipment provision,
    • marketing to provide PR/engineering swag,
    • procurement to enable vendors/licensing to be well managed.

All with a focus on improving the Engineers' experience, scaling the team and delivering a best-in-class Engineering culture in line with Anaplan’s values.

  • Detail-oriented and able to work in complex environments.
  • Excellent at both written and verbal communication.
  • Comfortable speaking to groups, facilitating and presenting ideas at all levels.
