Global Head of Procurement

Location: San Francisco, CA

In order to achieve this vision, we need to build a global procurement team that can work with critical stakeholders across the company to provide the best value goods and services that enable Anaplan to achieve its goals. 

As the Global Head of Procurement reporting to the Corporate Controller, you will look holistically at Anaplan’s goals, current spend and purchasing needs on a global scale.  You will develop scalable policies, processes and tools that enable fast decisions and a high level of service.  You will utilize your deep understanding of all aspects of procurement to continuously improve the status quo.  Most importantly, you will create, mentor and lead a world class procurement team.

What would you do?

  • Head of Procurement for acquisition of goods and services across categories and across the world
  • Lead, refine and develop global procurement strategy and policy
  • Create, lead and mentor a world-class procurement team
  • Ongoing stakeholder engagement to identify sourcing needs and strategies
  • Identify, develop and implement global business processes that improve scalability and customer service
  • Ensure global and scalable processes and tools addressing all aspects of procurement, spend management and consolidation, compliance and reporting
  • Think strategically and globally, build and manage a Best-in-Class Procurement engine
  • Lead all aspects of the sourcing cycle from cradle to grave, including demand and stakeholder management, market research / supply analytics, sourcing execution, contract negotiation, delivery and ongoing performance management, dispute management.
  • Manage and continuously improve the strategic sourcing process, including RFx, vendor evaluations, commercial negotiations and cost savings
  • Ensure fast action while ensuring compliance
  • Utilize a data driven approach to obtain optimal and consistent results
  • Ensure maximum value by utilizing spend analytics to identify opportunities to streamline and consolidate spend
  • Create and monitor key performance criteria (KPIs and SLAs)
  • Lead implementation of key policies and tools, including updated travel and expense policy, Concur travel tool and Travel Management Company launch
  • Lead and implement policies and procedures for corporate credit card program, mobile phone program, etc.
  • Create a culture of continual improvement
  • Develop and conduct training re: procurement best practices

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent
  • Minimum 10 years of experience with procurement and sourcing across categories in a global environment
  • 5+ years’ experience leading the Procurement function in high-growth, global technology, SaaS or Cloud company
  • 5+ years’ experience managing a team of procurement professionals, proven ability to create and lead a procurement organization
  • Good communication skills, including strong presentation skills
